Writing is to me - Laura-Leigh Robson

I keep my feelings locked away 

Explaining in person is hard for me to say 

I hold them in or write them down 

A way to help a smile or frown 

I struggle to trust or let anyone in 

Poetry lets out what is under my skin 

I may be happy, I may be sad 

Release my emotions that can be bad 

I never thought I’d be a poet 

But here I am, don’t we know it 

Scribbles I do, paper I tear 

It’s done me good – lets be fair.
